What lions drink

Lions drink lots of water whenever they can.
They don't care if the water is not clean as they don't mind drinking muddy water.
"After eating, a thirsty lion may drink for as long as 20 minutes."

Where the African lion lives

The African lion used to live in most of Africa and parts of Asia and Europe.Today you can find them in parts of Sub-Saharan Africa.Lions like grassy places,woodlands and scrub country.

Did You Know?

Lions are strong powerful animals.
Lions are Africa's largest carnivore.
Female lions give birth to a litter of cubs every 2 years.
Female lions do most of the hunting.
The hyena is one of the lion's greatest competitors for prey.
Only adult male lions have the long, shaggy mane.
The fuller and darker the mane is the healthier the lion is believed to be.

Facts about cubs

Cubs nurse for about 6 months.They start eating meat at 3 months old. In the wild, about 3/4th of cubs do not live to become adults. They die mainly from no food or gets attack by other animals (including other lions that are not part of the pride).

What do lions eat!


Lions are carnivores witch means they are meat eaters.
They eat animals like Buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and waterbuck.
Here is a lion getting ready to pounce on its prey.
If two Lions are in a fight and one kills the other,
then the winner may eat the dead Lion!
